Artist statement:
In my fine arts practice, I find many outlets for self-expression through the interpretations of various subjects and themes. The works on display in this exhibition are an example of these different facets, the ongoing conversations I have with myself through these works, as well as the conversations occurring between the works themselves. Representatives of three different bodies of work are shown here, highlighting my interests in portraiture, travel, and the freedom I find in abstract thinking. Different as they are at the surface level, each body of work reinforces and feeds another. As the rungs on a ladder, to make one independent from the group would ensure a precarious climb to the top.
