Artist statement:
Limitless is a dialogue between traditional Chinese painting and my personal exploration as a mixed media artist. I incorporate Taoist philosophy into my work, contemplating on the harmonious nature of the universe. Both creating and viewing the piece is a meditation. A once flat surface grows into a hyperbolic plane, inspired by the growth of a lotus leaf. The piece interacts with the space surrounding it, capturing light from the window and reaching towards the walls. Eastern painting ideals are expressed through a contemporary Western approach.
